Online retailers are preparing for one the busiest shopping days of the year as consumers flock to buy Christmas presents.
The first Monday after shoppers receive their final pay packet before the festive season, or "Cyber Monday", has seen a surge in internet traffic for online shops in recent years.
Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG) estimated that shoppers will spend £7.75 billion online throughout December.
High street retailer Argos said on the equivalent day last year, Monday 29 November, there were 1.7 million visits to Argos.co.uk and 20,000 orders were placed in one day.
A spokesman for the company said that the most popular items likely to be ordered include video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Apple iPods and iPads, digital cameras, Christmas LED lights and any merchandise related to the Disney Pixar film Cars 2.
