Angry Birds tops iPhone apps chart

A flock of irate wingless birds have dominated the attentions of smartphone users this year.
Angry Birds topped the chart for paid-for iPhone apps bought from Apple in 2011.
Two of its spin-offs - Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio - also featured in the top 10.
The original game sees players catapulting round red birds at various structures in order to get at their green pig nemeses.
Facebook topped the free app downloads on the iPhone, while Twitter, Skype and eBay all featured in the top 10.
Meanwhile, the BBC's iPlayer came top of the iPad free app download chart.
TV catch-up services are proving a hit on the tablet device with ITV Player and 4oD all featuring in the top 10.
Meanwhile, the iPad's top paid-for app was the word processor Pages.
Music recording and producing software GarageBand came in at number two while two Angry Birds games also featured in the top 10.
