A British soldier has died following an explosion in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said.
The soldier, from 35 Engineer Regiment, Royal Engineers, died in Queen Elizabeth NHS Hospital, Birmingham.
He was brought back to the UK following the blast from an improved explosive device in the Nahr-e Saraj District of Helmand Province on Tuesday.
The soldier's next of kin have been informed.
